Hola Jackie! I couldn’t believe what I saw on the show this past week; how can someone say that want to be happy by being 1000 pounds? Just like you, I have had me issues with weight, but have done something about it. I went from a size 16 to a 10 and that maked me feel happier, but above all healthier and more alive. You were amazing as usual, saying it como es, sin pelos en la lengua…jeje! Chica eres la mejor y un gran ejemplo para mi. Mucha suerte con todo y keep me updated with your talkshow…(crossing fingers)

I love all the advice you give on the show’s and here. I know you don’t sugar coat it, people need toughlove to listen these days. Otherwise they just runamok, I have really been inspired by your weightloss too. I am kinda fluffy, not obesely sick, but I don’t want to wait until I get to that point. It’s me again! I just saw The Tyra Show that aired yesterday about childhood obesity and was stunned. You as alaways gave amazing advice and I love the fact that you were so strong and rigid with the parents. Just like you said, the parents are the one’s that supply all the junk food that their kids indulge in. It broke my heart to see all the kids crying up there and telling their stories of struggle and bullies, but you gave those bullies a run for thier money chica…”You might not be fat, but you are ugly and a jerk”…loved it! Keep up the great work chica bonita and keep on coming out on the Tyra Show to represent all of us strong, beautiful, and smart Latinas like yourself! Muchos besos y abrazos!

Dear Jackie,
I saw you on Tyra Banks show today. I remember seeing you as the sister in the movie Selena. Your story sounds so much like mine.
I am 42 yrs old. I am 316 lbs and have tried every diet in the book. I have developed diabetes, high cholesterol and have been having some complications as a result of the diabetes. After much prayer and advice from my dr., I have decided on Gastric Bypass. A lot of my family is saying that I am just taking the easy way out and that I can just lose the weight with diet and exercise. But it is not that easy, especially with all the medication that I am on. And a few of those family members are nurses and try to tell me of all the horror stories from having the surgery.
So, I am scared but I know I need to have it done or I will die soon. My only fustration is my insurance (medical assistance) is making me go through the whole 6-month program and I feel I need to get it done sooner because my eyes are blurry, my fingers and toes are numb, I am nauseaus all the time. I am also afraid that with Medical Assistance I won’t get the quality of care or a really goo physician to do the surgery. But nevertheless, I am trying to get into the program but 6 months seems so long. I guess since I have been struggling with obesity all my life 6 more months won’t hurt. Lol
Anyway, your story inspired me. Keep doing what you are doing and may God bless you!

Hi jackie! I need your help please. Ever since I had my baby boy. I had a hard time losing my weight. I had never have to deal with weight because I had always been thin. But now I dont know what not to eat what to eat to lose weight. I want to know that if you can give me me tips on your weight loss that worked on you. Thank you so much.
P.S I think you look wonderful and I love you attitude.

Jackie i’m an absolute fan of yours. I love your personality and the way you talk how you’re always confident and of course the advice you give on the tyra show. i seriuosly want to know your diet because i want to loose weight this summer please send me your diet. i’m tired of listening to my mom about saying all the time that i need to take care of myself but it’s just so difficult. i want to do it for myself too because i get so fustrated when we go shopping and i can’t find clothes for me that fit. i also hate it when i see a shirt or a pair of jeans that i really really like and i can’t get them because it doesn’t fit. But o’ve always been chubby/fat since i was little so i think that’s why it’s a little more difficult, but anyways have to go bye.

I have to say you are an amazing woman! I loved your confidence on giving advice on the Tyra show. That was really amazing. I am needing your advice on weight loss. I am 30 years old about 5′2 and weight about 165 pound. I have 2 kids, with the last baby I have gained a lot of weight and have struggled to loss the weight. I have been going to the gym for about 8 months 2 hours daily and I’ve lost only about 5 pounds in 8 months. As the months go by I get more and more discouraged. I guess I’m not eating the right foods. Can you please give me any advice on what I’m needing to cut down on. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
